What are hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are swollen veins in the anal canal and lower rectum, similar to varicose veins. They can be internal (inside the rectum) or external (under the skin around the anus). Hemorrhoids are caused by increased pressure in the pelvic or rectal area, often due to constipation, straining during bowel movements, pregnancy, or sitting for long periods of time.

Symptoms

Symptoms of hemorrhoids may include:

  • Pain and discomfort, especially during bowel movements.

  • Bleeding, without pain, during bowel movements, often noticed on toilet paper.

  • Itching or irritation in the anal area.

  • Swelling around the anus.

Hemorrhoid Treatments

Treatment for hemorrhoids varies depending on the severity of symptoms and their impact on daily life. Here are some common approaches:

  1. Home treatments:

    • Sitz baths: Sitting in a warm bath several times a day can reduce inflammation.

    • Creams and suppositories*: Products available at pharmacies can reduce inflammation and relieve pain and irritation.

    • * Hamalar is one of them

    • Change in diet: Increasing fiber intake and drinking plenty of fluids can help prevent constipation and reduce pressure on hemorrhoids.

  2. Drugs :

    • Anti-inflammatories or pain relievers may be used to manage pain and inflammation.

  3. Medical procedures:

    • Rubber band ligation: A small rubber band is placed around the base of an internal hemorrhoid to cut off its blood flow, causing it to fall out.

    • Sclerotherapy: A chemical solution is injected into hemorrhoids to shrink them.

    • Infrared Coagulation: Heat is used to shrink hemorrhoids.

  4. Surgery :

    • In severe cases, surgery may be necessary to remove or shrink the hemorrhoids.

Prevention

Preventing hemorrhoids usually involves managing constipation and reducing pressure on the rectum. This may include regular exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding sitting for long periods of time, and using the toilet effectively without straining.

Hemorrhoids are a very common condition and usually manageable with the right care and treatment. If symptoms persist or worsen, it is important to consult a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Hamalar and its components:

Ruscus aculeatus

Fragrance is a shrub that grows in clearings. It contains interesting and beneficial elements for the treatment of haemorrhoids.

  • steroidal glucosides with anti-inflammatory potential

  • ruscogenin stimulates microcirculation.

  • flavonoids which have a direct action on the veins

Hamamelis virginiana
Hamamelis virginiana is a small Virginia tree that flowers in autumn. It is considered a medicinal plant because its flowers and fruit are rich in:

  • flavonoids (vitamin P) and rutin, both of which have a veno-tonic effect (they stimulate venous circulation).

  • saponin, which has a surface-active and anti-inflammatory effect and other substances active against itching.

Aesculus hippocastanum L
Horse chestnut has been known for decades to have a beneficial effect on venous circulation:

  • aescin has a powerful tensio-active property and an anti-inflammatory effect.

  • flavonoids, including vitamin P, which has a veno-tonic effect

  • and other active substances as decongestants.

Hamalar contains this combination of medicinal plants, which has been widely studied for decades and has been the subject of countless studies demonstrating its benefits in the presence of haemorrhoids.

In a nutshell,

Hamalar ointment reduces inflammation, itching and bleeding.

As a result, pain and discomfort are reduced throughout the treatment. Hamalar also provides the tonic effect that is so important for good venous microcirculation.
